Just in time for the season of giving, an Australian businessman in the gold industry has decided to make the generous gift of a $3 million iPhone…to himself. How touching.

The phone shows his love for all things gold and sparkly using a 22-carat gold case encrusted with diamonds. The most impressive diamond is the 7.1 carat piece that serves as the navigation button. Not excessive in the least.

The over-the-top accessory was brought to life by British designer Stuart Hughes. It  took 10 months of work, 271 grams of gold and 136 flawless diamonds to create. Meanwhile children starve in Africa. You decide.

This not-too-attractive display of overindulgence begs the question: If you could afford something like this would you? Hopefully taste and judgement would outweigh a bulging bank account and desire to be noticed. [via Dvice]
