Blogging has become a phenomenon unto itself as more and more people try to find ways to earn money at home or promote themselves or their business by taking to the Internet and starting their own blog. If there is a subject you have in mind, there’s a good chance that there’s a blog on the World Wide Web catering to it. People make money from blogs by advertising on their site, or by establishing it so that it has regular readers and a good following and then selling it. What the blog sells for will depend on things such as Google PageRank and how many visitors it gets, as well as its domain name. While blogs can sell for as little as $1, they usually make the owners a nice little profit, if it is maintained properly and the sale is handled well. There is one blog however, that has made one blog owner, Johns Wu, very rich.

The blog is Bankaholic and Wu used this global outlet as a financial blog to speak about the state of the economy, investments, and any other aspect of the finance world that you could imagine. Being a financial guru though, Johns Wu wasn’t going to sell the blog to just anybody for just any amount. It wasn’t until BankRate offered Wu the monumental amount of $12.4 million dollars that Wu decided to sell the blog, making it the most expensive blog ever sold. This particular blog creates revenue by using Google AdSense and credit card affiliates on the site and was created in WordPress, which is a free site for anyone who wants to create a blog.
